Three finished models of a Heki larch 20 cm tall. The trees only have to be seated in the scene of a diorama or a layout.
Responsibility details are not available.
The larch is the exception among conifers: it drops its needles for the winter, so in spring it comes into fresh light green, in summer it darkens and in autumn it turns golden. The crown is slender and fairly open, the branches are set in tiers and the lower part of the trunk tends to be bare on mature trees. On a diorama a larch therefore reads differently from a spruce and it suits anywhere a stand is to stay open and is not meant to close a scene off visually.
The package from the Heki company holds three trees 20 cm tall. In 1:35 scale such a height corresponds to a tree roughly 7 m tall, in 1:72 scale it is over 14 m and on a model railroad in 1:87 scale over 17 m. The trees are finished; after unpacking all you have to do is seat them in the scene.
A tree holds most firmly glued into a hole drilled in the base. Try the arrangement dry before you reach for the glue. Do not stand three trees in a row or at equal spacing; an irregular triangle with one tree off to the side looks more natural. Mask the base of the trunk with static grass, leaves or fine scatter, so that the transition between the tree and the ground is not visible. The crown can be lightly dusted with a paler shade from above, as if the sun had lit it.
The trees suit builders of dioramas and of the model railroad and anyone who does not want to assemble a tree themselves. The base, the glue and material for undergrowth are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
