Eight finished model conifers from the German maker HEKI, seven to twelve centimeters tall, fitted with imitation snow on the branches. A snow-covered tree is rewarding on a model but also committing: once you put it in a scene, everything else has to be wintry too, because a snowy fir above a green meadow looks like a mistake. In a properly built winter landscape, though, the effect it can produce is all the greater.
The trees are pushed into a prepared hole or glued by the foot of the trunk. The snow on the branches is sensitive to touch, so take the trees by the trunk and handle them as little as possible. In the scene let the snow lie on the ground and on roofs as well, otherwise the trees look isolated. If you need to add snow, use a fine snow scatter applied over a thin layer of glue, but rather sparingly.
For builders of winter layouts and dioramas and for modelers building seasonal scenes. Eight pieces are enough for a smaller winter forest and its edge, so a scene can be planted up in one go without anything having to be added. This is modeling material, not a toy. The manufacturer marks its scenery products as unsuitable for children under fifteen.
