Ten lower conifers from the line of weather-beaten spruces. The crown is irregular, so even a small tree reads as a real tree and not as a green cone. They are supplied finished and foliated.
This size has two uses. In the smaller layout gauges it represents mature trees, whereas in the usual H0 gauge it serves as younger growth, self-seeding at the margin of a clearing or trees in the depth of a scene. Ten pieces in the box are enough for a continuous group, so the set combines well with taller trees from the same line.
The set suits layout builders and diorama modelers who build a forest in layers and want even the rear plane not to look like a regular row of cones. Production takes place in Germany and the shape of the crown is finished by hand, so the pieces differ from one another. The trunk can be shortened as needed, grading the heights within a group further. The core of each small tree is an injection-molded plastic armature with hand-bent branches, so not even neighboring pieces are identical. In the rear plane it pays to plant more densely than at the front; in the depth of a scene the eye reads a continuous mass of greenery rather than individual trees.
