One hundred push-in spruces five to seven centimeters tall. Small finished trees of uniform size for a dense background and for the smaller layout gauges.
Responsibility details are not available.
A box with a hundred small conifers in a narrow range of heights. The uniform size is deliberate here: that is what young spruce growth or a planted stand looks like, where the trees grow at the same time and have the same crown. The small trees are finished, foliated and have a spike on the trunk.
Small trees have three main roles on a layout. They form the mass of a forest in the depth of a scene, where nobody looks at individual pieces close up. They also fill slopes and embankments, where taller trees would hide the track. And finally, in the smaller layout gauges they represent full-size mature trees, because seven centimeters is a respectable height in the small gauges.
The box will be appreciated by the layout builder who needs to forest a large area as well as by the diorama modeler looking for a mass of greenery. The core of each small tree is an injection-molded plastic armature with hand-bent branches; production takes place in Germany. Anyone who wants more varied growth will add a few pieces from the higher lines to this set and place them irregularly. When handling a small tree, hold it by the trunk rather than the crown, otherwise the foliage is crushed where it was gripped and a pale patch remains.
