Twenty conifers 7 to 14 cm tall

A set of twenty finished small trees in the taller range, that is, seven to fourteen centimeters. Compared with the lower sets in the same line these are trees that are seen in a scene and will stand a close look. They are supplied foliated, without decorations and without lighting.

Where taller trees come into their own

In the foreground of a forest, by buildings and everywhere a tree is to set the scale. Fourteen centimeters corresponds to a genuinely mature individual in the usual layout gauge, so such a tree is not put in the middle of an area but in a place where it is to mean something: by a house, by a chapel, above a railroad cutting. Twenty pieces are enough for a forest edge or for several separate groups.

How to plant them

• In groups of two or three of differing height
• On their own by buildings, where a tree sets the scale
• At the forest edge as a transition to lower growth
• With snow applied from above with a dry brush in a winter scene

Who the set is for

It suits layout builders and diorama modelers who need more mature small trees in smaller numbers. The core of each small tree is an injection-molded plastic armature with hand-bent branches; production takes place in Germany, so individual pieces differ in shape. The trunks can be shortened, which lets the range of heights in a group be tuned to the needs of a scene. Taller trees should be fixed firmly, because their center of gravity is high up and they tip easily when a module is handled. Then cover the foot of the trunk with scatter so that the joint is not visible.
