Grass Mat Flowering Meadow (100 x 200 cm)

HEKI grass mat, flowering meadow, 100 x 200 cm

This is not a model or a kit but a finished grass surface. Upright fibers stand on a firm special paper and form a dense green growth with colored flowers scattered through it. The result matches an unmown meadow in high summer. The middle format of 100 x 200 cm gives 2 m² according to the manufacturer, so it covers a large part of a smaller layout or several dioramas. The mat is not tied to a single scale; the manufacturer lists it for the H0, TT, N and Z sizes.

Use

• meadows in bloom, gardens, unmown strips along fences and embankments
• areas meant to liven a scene up with color, for example around a farmstead or a halt
• after cutting it is glued on a flat board like wallpaper with wallpaper, spray or general-purpose adhesive
• for broken terrain crumple the mat, unfold it and only then glue it down
• cut a road or a stream by damping the surface, scraping the fibers off with a spatula and repainting with acrylic
• added flower flock will form clumps of a single color, the kind a real meadow has

Who it is for

For modelers for whom the smallest sheet is not enough and the largest would be left over. It is good to combine a flowering surface with quieter green so that the pattern does not look repetitive, and to leave the edges irregular. On a diorama the mat proves itself in the background and along the edges, where it fills out the main scene without taking attention. It pays to keep the offcuts of the sheet, because they serve as patches during later work.

Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
