Gauge Neutral Grass mat, forest floor (4-couloured), 75 x 100 cm

HEKI grass mat, forest floor, 75 x 100 cm

This is not a model or a kit but a finished surface for building terrain. The manufacturer lists it as forest floor in four color components: brown and ocher tones of leaf litter and pine needles prevail, and green tufts are only there to fill out. The uneven coloring is intentional here, because continuous green does not grow under tree canopies. The backing is a firm special paper with densely flocked upright fibers. The smallest format of 75 x 100 cm corresponds to 0.75 m² according to the manufacturer. The mat is not tied to a single scale; the manufacturer lists it for the H0, TT, N and Z sizes.

Use

• forest floor on dioramas and on smaller parts of layouts
• clearings, cut lines, the edges of forest tracks and shaded places by buildings
• after cutting it is glued like wallpaper with wallpaper, spray or general-purpose adhesive
• a broken surface comes about by crumpling the mat, unfolding it and only then gluing it down
• cut a road by damping the surface, scraping the fibers off with a spatula and repainting with acrylic
• at the foot of trees add crumbs of cork bark, tufts and a dark scatter

Who it is for

For modelers of a single diorama and for those who want to try forest floor out before buying several meters. A smaller sheet is also easier to work on your own, because it goes down before the adhesive becomes tacky. Anyone building a forest step by step will appreciate that the same mat also exists in both larger formats with the identical coloring.

Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
