This is not a model or a kit but a finished surface for building terrain. The manufacturer lists it as forest floor and states four color components for it, so the growth is not uniform: brown and ocher tones stand for fallen leaf litter and pine needles, and green only for sparse tufts of undergrowth. It is precisely that unevenness that makes the ground under trees believable, because continuous green does not in fact grow under canopies. The backing is a firm special paper with densely flocked upright fibers. The 100 x 300 cm format gives 3 m² according to the manufacturer, and the mat is not tied to a single scale; the manufacturer lists it for the H0, TT, N and Z sizes.

Use

• forest floor under coniferous as well as broadleaf growth, cut lines, forest tracks and the edges of clearings
• shaded areas by buildings and under bridges, where a rich green would look false
• on a flat board it is cut and then glued like wallpaper with wallpaper, spray or general-purpose adhesive
• for broken terrain crumple the mat, unfold it and only then glue it down
• cut a road or a stream by damping the surface, scraping the fibers off with a spatula and repainting with acrylic

Who it is for

For modelers who are building a wooded layout and do not want to put the coloring of forest floor together by hand from several scatters. A large format pays off where the forest is to form a continuous area and joins would show.
