Grass mat, autumn coloures, 75 x 100 cm

HEKI grass mat, autumn colors, 75 x 100 cm

This is not a model or a kit but a finished grass surface. Upright fibers stand on a firm special paper and form a dense growth, and the coloring mixes the dried-out yellow, ocher and remaining green of late autumn. The 75 x 100 cm format is the smallest of the autumn line and the manufacturer states 0.75 m² for it, a sensible supply for one diorama or for filling out a layout already under way. The mat is not tied to a single scale; the manufacturer lists it for the H0, TT, N and Z sizes.

Use

• autumn scenes, stubble fields, overgrown field boundaries, embankments and the edges of forest tracks
• on a flat board it is cut and then glued like wallpaper with wallpaper, spray or general-purpose adhesive
• hills and slopes come about by reshaping it over crumpled paper balls or over a framework of strips and cardboard
• you get a broken surface by crumpling the mat, unfolding it and only then gluing it down
• cut a road or a stream like this: damp the surface, scrape the fibers off with a spatula after a minute and repaint with acrylic once dry
• added flower flock and crumbs of cork bark make for extra effects

Who it is for

For modelers who are building a single diorama and do not want to buy several meters of material, and for those who want to try an autumn surface alongside a summer one. A smaller format is also easier to work on your own, because it goes down before the adhesive becomes tacky.

Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
