Rock film with a limestone shale relief from HEKI: two sheets measuring 40 x 18 cm. The flexible material is shaped by crumpling it in the hand, so rock comes about without a complicated framework.

A flexible film with an embossed rock relief from the German manufacturer HEKI. According to the manufacturer there are two sheets measuring 40 x 18 cm in the package. It is not a kit or a casting that would have to be seated into a prepared mold: the material is shaped by crumpling it in the hand, so you create the unevenness and the fractures yourself and a different rock face comes out every time. The manufacturer describes the relief as limestone shale, and the film is not tied to a single scale.
First crumple the sheet and open it out again, until the texture has the depth you want. Then lay it on the terrain and fasten it with staples or hot glue; according to the manufacturer no demanding supporting structure is needed. It is best painted in two steps: a thinner dark coat runs into the joints, and a drybrush in a light shade then pulls the edges out. Hide the join of two sheets in a fracture in the rock, not in a flat area.
It suits layout modelers and diorama builders who need to create rock quickly and without plaster, and it serves just as well as a patch for a place where the terrain did not come out. Two smaller sheets come into their own where a limited stretch of face is enough.
The film is supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and other material are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
