A natural cork sheet in a light finish, measuring forty-nine by twenty-eight centimeters and three millimeters thick. It is flexible, cuts and sands well and suits everywhere ready-made cork strips are not enough and the modeler has to make the shape himself.
On station areas, at turnouts, in a depot and on a turntable, that is, wherever the base is wide and irregular. Also for lining tunnel bores and for evening out differences in level under the track. The light finish suits use under lighter ballast and where cork is left partly visible as dry soil.
It suits layout builders who lay their base to measure, as well as diorama modelers for whom cork serves as a light and easily shaped material under terrain. The manufacturer is a German company specializing in scenery accessories, and production takes place in Germany. A dark version is also available in the same size, and the choice between them is a matter of the color of the ballast to come. The sheet can also be cut into strips and so replace ready-made strips where their width does not suit, for example on a siding or a stub track.
