Responsibility details are not available.
A set of decals in 1:72 scale devoted to the Spitfire Mk.V version with the c wing and to its spread beyond its home air force. It is an accessory for a kit, not a model: the package holds decals only, with which you give a finished model a particular operator. Tiger Head Models is a Turkish brand specializing in decal sheets and resin accessories, often for subjects that ordinary kits do not cover. The manufacturer's data sheet lists the schemes.
The Spitfire Mk.V was the most numerously built version of the first part of the war and bore the main weight of the fighting at a time when the emphasis shifted from the defense of the islands to offensive operations over the continent and into the Mediterranean. The c wing is usually described as the universal one: it allowed different combinations of machine gun and cannon armament to be fitted as a unit needed, so the same airframe appeared in several guises. Thanks to the high number built, it was the Mk.V that reached many Allied and postwar operators on several continents, which makes it a rewarding subject for a set with an international reach.
Spitfires in tropical areas wore dusty, faded finishes, so expect weathering after the decals. The order is the opposite of what it seems, though: first the gloss coat, then the decals and a decal fixer, then knocking back to matte, and only at the very end the dust and the wash. Mind the filter under the nose, which changes the outline of the fuselage on tropical machines: check decals placed near it against the drawing so that they do not clash with the edge of the part. Keep the rest of the sheet, as the individual markings come in useful on other builds too.
This is a stand-alone decal sheet. The kit, paints, clear coats and weathering products are not included in the package.
