A 1:48 masking set for a model of the Petlyakov Pe-2. Check the target kit on the packaging.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Petlyakov Pe-2 was a Soviet twin-engine combat aircraft of the Second World War, used for dive bombing and for reconnaissance. It was among the most numerous machines of its kind, and builders remember it above all for its glazed nose and crew canopy, which together form a large area of clear parts with dense framing.
The set of masking parts is prepared for a Pe-2 model in 1:48 scale. Before buying, check on the packaging which kit the set is cut for. The scope of the set, that is, which areas it covers and how many parts it contains, is likewise stated by the manufacturer on the packaging.
Wash and degrease the surface first, otherwise the edge of a mask will not sit down and paint will run under it. Always apply the masks with tweezers before spraying; on continuous glazing work from one end so that no panel is left out. Press the edges down carefully, apply the paint in several thin coats and remove the masks once the finish has set, not after it has fully cured.
It suits builders of Soviet equipment in 1:48 scale who want sharp canopy frames of equal width without slow tape cutting. It also comes into its own with a multicolor camouflage finish and with a winter overspray, when the canopy is covered more than once.
The kit and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
