A Big Sin range accessory set in 1:72 scale for a model of the reconnaissance MiG-21R, intended for Eduard kits. The extent of the parts is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Responsibility details are not available.
The MiG-21 was one of the most widespread supersonic fighters of its day. It has a slender fuselage, a delta wing and a circular air intake with a movable cone on the axis of the nose. The letter R in the designation belongs to the reconnaissance form, which carried reconnaissance equipment in a pod slung under the fuselage in place of part of its combat load. The cockpit stayed single-seat and, together with the wheel bays, tends to be the most closely watched place when building a model.
The set belongs to the Big Sin range, that is, to a group of accessory sets for one particular model. Which parts of the model it covers, how many parts it contains and in what order they are fitted are given in the manufacturer's instructions. Go through them in full before the build, because some of the parts are fitted before the fuselage is closed.
The accessories are fitted during the build, not afterwards on a finished model. So try the assembly dry first and only then glue it; the plastic of the kit usually needs slight adjustment at the seating point. Work on the small parts with tweezers and put them down in a dish so they do not get lost. In 1:72 scale the parts are really small, so it pays to work over a light mat. The choice of glue and the preparation of the surface before painting are described in the manufacturer's instructions.
This is an accessory for a kit, and no stand-alone model will come out of it. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
