Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the four-engined jet airliner Boeing 720B in 1:144 scale from Roden. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. It is a classic plastic kit with split fuselage halves, wings and engine nacelles; for the exact contents of the box and the range of decals, go by the enclosed instructions.
The Boeing 720 was a lightened and shortened derivative of the successful 707, intended for shorter routes and smaller airports. The 720B version received turbofan engines, which brought higher performance and better economy. With its four engines slung under a swept wing it was among the fast, modern airliners at the turn of the 1950s and 1960s, and it was operated by many airlines around the world.
The long fuselage calls for careful gluing and filling of the longitudinal seams, so that they do not show up after varnishing. Polished metal surfaces are created with metallic paint over a smooth base, applied only at the end. Mask the cockpit and window glazing before spraying. Lay down a gloss varnish under the colorful airline liveries so that the decals settle without silvering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
