About product

Seat belts He 219 UHU 1:144 (HGW)

This accessory from HGW is not a model but a set of seat belts for the cockpit. The belts are made of a fine material that imitates cloth faithfully and are completed by photo-etched buckles. Even in the tiny 1:144 scale they replace flat plastic or painted belts with a realistic imitation that can be arranged fastened or unfastened.

The real subject

The Heinkel He 219 UHU was a German night fighter of the Second World War. As one of the first production aircraft it had ejection seats and the slanted arrangement of armament for night combat. Faithful belts in the cockpit are among the details that raise the realism even on a model this small.

Building and painting tips

In 1:144 scale work with tweezers and good lighting. Glue the belts with a small amount of super glue or with an adhesive for photo-etched parts. The buckles can be lightly toned in metallic shades; the straps themselves only need a restrained match to the period color of the belts.

Who the set is for

  • Modelers building the cockpit of the He 219 in a small scale
  • Collectors of German aircraft of the Second World War
  • Builders who want realistic belts even in 1:144
  • More experienced modelers used to fine work

This is an accessory for the cockpit. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.

FAQ

No. It is a set of seat belts for the cockpit. The He 219 model has to be bought separately.

Of a fine material that imitates cloth faithfully, combined with photo-etched buckles.

Yes, but because of the 1:144 size tweezers, a magnifier and a steady hand are recommended.
