This twin set in 1:144 scale contains two separate plastic kits of iconic German aircraft of the Second World War: the Messerschmitt Bf 109E fighter and the Junkers Ju 87B Stuka dive bomber. As a starter set (Model Set) it also comes with a set of basic paints, a brush and glue, so it suits complete beginners as well as a quick building project. Decals and stands for displaying both finished models are included too.
The Bf 109E was the main version of the Messerschmitt deployed during the Battle of France and the Battle of Britain; it was powered by a Daimler-Benz engine and carried a combination of machine guns and cannon. The Junkers Ju 87B Stuka became the symbol of dive bombing, with its characteristic cranked wing and fixed landing gear in aerodynamic spats. Both aircraft are among the best known Luftwaffe types of the early war.
A small scale forgives fewer mistakes in surface cleanliness, so take care to clean up the mold seams and to apply paint thinly, or the fine engraving will disappear. For opaque shades it is a good idea to fill the base with a primer first. Apply the decals onto a smooth gloss surface and seal them with a matte varnish.
