This 1:144 scale injection-molded plastic kit by Academy represents the Boeing E-737 Peace Eye airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft in service with the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF). The model faithfully captures the civilian basis — the Boeing 737 airliner — fitted with the distinctive dorsal radar antenna that turns the aircraft into an airborne command and surveillance platform. The box includes clear parts and markings for ROKAF aircraft.
The E-737 Peace Eye is the South Korean version of an airborne early warning aircraft built on the proven Boeing 737 airframe. It carries a fixed dorsal radar antenna above the fuselage that lets it track air and ground activity at long range, direct friendly aircraft and coordinate air operations. The Republic of Korea Air Force introduced these aircraft into service in the past decade as a key element of air operations command and control.
In the small 1:144 scale, pay attention to clean fuselage and wing joints and careful filling of seams, which show up well on the smooth fuselage of an airliner. Use a thin liquid cement, sand the joints smooth and apply a primer coat. Spray the light colors with an airbrush; protect the clear cockpit parts with a mask. Apply the decals over a gloss coat and seal them with a matte or satin topcoat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
