This is a turned metal detail accessory in 1:16 scale, not a kit. It replaces the plastic barrel of the main gun and brings a perfectly circular cross section, an accurate muzzle and fine detail that a plastic part usually does not reach. The accessory is meant for models of the Panzer III tank in the late versions with the long barrel.
The 5 cm KwK 39 L/60 gun was the long-barreled version of the German 50 mm tank gun, introduced from the end of 1941. The longer barrel raised the muzzle velocity and the penetration against armor, which extended the combat usefulness of the Panzer III in the Ausf. J (late), L and M versions.
Clean any microscopic burrs off the metal barrel, check the fit in the turret dry and only then bond it with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Degrease the metal surface before painting and lay on a primer suitable for metal so that the paint holds well.
This is a standalone detail accessory. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
