The further along the range, the more varied the choice of positions a builder has at hand. The individual sets do not overlap but complement one another, so it makes sense to acquire several of them over time. Like the others, this piece is intended for large-format figures and busts and is cast in resin.

Conversions and rebuilds

Replacement hands are the basic raw material of conversions. When you are turning a figure into someone other than the manufacturer intended, the carriage of the body changes and so does what the figure is holding, and the original hands almost never match the new intention. With a stock of replacement pairs you can work more freely and you do not have to stick to what was in the box.

Pinning with wire and filling

Drill slowly with a hand drill, because at high speed resin melts and the hole clogs up. Insert a copper or brass wire into both the hand and the stump; it will hold the joint even if it is repositioned later. Shape the transition with a putty that sets slowly, so that you have enough time to carve the folds of the sleeve into it.

Do not throw the unused hands away. As a rule you will use up a single pair from a set, and the rest will in time make up a store thanks to which the next conversion can go ahead without waiting for a new set. Put them away in a labeled box sorted by scale.
