1:24 AN-M65 (AN-M59) bombs (1000 lbs) (2 pcs) is a pair of 1000-pound bombs in a resin print, usable as a high-explosive and as a semi-armor-piercing variant.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item from Reskit covers two designations at once: the AN-M65 casing and the AN-M59, close to it in shape, with a nominal weight of one thousand pounds. In the package there are two pieces printed in photopolymer resin, that is by a technology which on a body this large holds a straight axis and a regular circumference. The carrying machine in 1:24 scale is obtained separately.
While 500-pound bombs covered the ordinary targets, this weight category was carried against strengthened structures: reinforced concrete bridges, dam walls, fortified command posts or deeper shelters. The AN-M65 carried over five hundred pounds of explosive and relied on blast, while the semi-armor-piercing AN-M59 had a charge of roughly three hundred pounds and a more massive wall, so as to punch through the target first. Both versions were used by the US Army Air Forces and by the RAF, and both outlasted the end of the war, so you will find them in photographs from Korea as well.
A large printed body is hollow and light, so anchor it to the pylon with a brass wire glued into a drilled hole. Trim the remains of the supports with a scalpel and go over them with a fine-grit sanding sponge, so that the engraving does not disappear. For color the same holds as with the lighter ordnance, but on a larger surface it shows to advantage if you lighten the base shade in the middle of the casing and leave the edges darker.
The item is supplied as unpainted prints with no glue and no suspension adapters.
