An injection-molded plastic model of the conventional-cab long-haul tractor unit Australian Truck in 1:24 scale from the Italian brand Italeri. The model represents a rugged tractor adapted to the harsh conditions of the Australian interior. The set contains chrome-plated and transparent parts, rubber tires and decals; it is a fairly large build for more experienced modelers. The contents are the tractor unit itself, the cab with the chassis.
Australian long-haul tractors cover long distances through the remote interior, the outback, where they often pull several trailers at once as so-called road trains. They are therefore fitted with a massive protective frame, a bull bar against animal strikes, extra tanks for a long range, a bank of driving lights and filters against dust.
Treat the cab with a primer and paint it with an airbrush in thin coats; glue the chrome-plated parts and the frame in a way that does not fog them. Paint the chassis, the engine and the interior before assembly. Subtle patina effects work well, as dust and grime underline the rugged character of the vehicle. Add the company livery with the decals supplied.
