About product

Hydraulic handbrake Type 2, 1:24, Yamamoto Model Parts

A fine 3D-printed resin accessory in 1:24 scale for car models. It is not a kit of a car but a standalone detail part: a hydraulic handbrake (a hydro) of the kind used in drift, rally and racing cars in place of the ordinary mechanical lever. The part is printed in high resolution with crisp relief on the lever, the cylinder and the lines.

What it is for

A hydraulic handbrake is a prominent feature of the interior of sports and competition cars. It is fitted into the cockpit of a model, usually beside the seat or on the center tunnel, and it markedly raises the realism of the detail where the plastic parts from the box tend to be simplified.

Tips for working and painting

Wash the mold release off the part, separate it carefully from the print supports and clean it up. It is bonded with super glue. A primer, an airbrush or a brush and bringing the metal parts out in aluminum or steel shades with a light wash are advisable.

Who the part is for

  • Builders of car models in 1:24 focused on the interior
  • Anyone interested in a realistic cockpit of drift and racing cars
  • Modelers used to working with fine resin

The accessory contains only the resin part. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
