An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:25 scale from the manufacturer Revell. The real subject is the third-generation Volkswagen Transporter in the bus standard, that is with a glazed box body and bench seats. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Volkswagen T3 was produced from the end of the 1970s and replaced the rounded T2 with an angular, markedly roomier body. The engine stayed at the rear, air-cooled at first and water-cooled later. The vehicle was supplied in many standards from a van and a flatbed to a glazed bus with a generous interior space, and it became the basis of a whole range of camper conversions. For modelers it is interesting precisely because of its simple, cleanly drawn surfaces, since it has nowhere to hide imperfect paint.
First rid the body of the mold parting lines and spray it with a surfacer, which pays off twice over with light and especially with two-tone paint. Lay the paint down in several thin coats and overcoat the surface with gloss varnish under the decals, so that no silvered edges appear. Build and paint the interior and the chassis separately, and only then close them into the body. Mask the glazing and glue it with cement for clear plastic. Chrome strips are handled best with a fine brush and metallic paint, or with self-adhesive chrome foil. At the end unify the surface with gloss varnish and polish it.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
