This is a photo-etched set for sharpening up the cabin interior of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 G fighter in 1:32 scale. It is not an airplane kit but an accessory meant for one particular Bf 109 G kit from the same maker. The set holds fine photo-etched parts, typically the instrument panel and the pilot's seat belts, which replace or add to the plastic parts of the base model and raise the level of detail in the places of the cockpit that show.
Photo-etched parts are thin and crisply drawn, so they capture the instruments, levers and metal features of a cockpit more convincingly than injection-molded plastic can reproduce them. Photo-etched seat belts can be shaped into realistic sag, which brings the seat and the whole interior to life once the cabin is closed.
Separate the parts carefully from the fret with a sharp knife on a cutting mat and make the bends along the etched groove, ideally in a bender. They are glued with super glue or two-part epoxy. Degrease them before painting; the small cockpit parts take a brush well, and the belts suit being brought out with a fine wash. Work in good light and with a magnifier.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without the base kit. Glue, paints and the target model are not included in the package.
