Injection-molded plastic kit of the Chinese Nanchang CJ-6 trainer in 1:32 scale from Trumpeter. The kit contains a separately built radial engine, a well-detailed cockpit and finely engraved surfaces. Once assembled it makes a large, detailed model of a popular training aircraft that is still widely flown by private owners today.
The CJ-6 is a Chinese two-seat basic trainer built by the Nanchang works. It grew out of the Soviet Yak-18A design, which China developed further into a type of its own with a radial engine. The aircraft became the main basic trainer of the People's Liberation Army Air Force and was built in large numbers.
Finish and paint the radial engine and the cockpit interior first, and close the fuselage up only afterwards. Glue with thin cement for plastic and use a primer and an airbrush. The metal surfaces of the engine will stand out with a fine wash and restrained weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
