A sheet of markings for the Navy version of the Douglas A-1H Skyraider in 1:32 scale, intended for Zoukei Mura kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of markings for the Douglas A-1H Skyraider in 1:32 scale. It is the Navy version and the first marking set in the series; it is also intended for Zoukei Mura kits, so the shapes and the dimensions are worked out for their model. Which particular aircraft the sheet covers is given in the instructions supplied with the set.
The Skyraider is an American single-seat propeller-driven attack aircraft that came about while the Second World War was still on and served well into the jet era. It stayed airborne longer than faster machines and carried a large load of armament, which made it a popular subject in the large 1:32 scale.
First check in the instructions whether this is a self-adhesive version: a self-adhesive film that has been soaked is ruined beyond repair, whereas an unsoaked wet decal can be soaked afterwards. With a wet decal, cut the element out as close to the printing as possible, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest on the paper until it starts to slide. The base must be glossy and smooth, or air will get under the film and the markings will turn gray. Slide the element off the paper into place, blot the excess water away and settle it with a softener. Once dry, varnish the surface so that the edges of the film disappear.
It suits builders of large aircraft models who want to finish a machine in the Navy version or to widen their choice of markings beyond what is in the kit.
The model of the aircraft, the paints and the varnish are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
