The real subject

The Republic F-105 Thunderchief, nicknamed Thud, was an American supersonic fighter-bomber used intensively during the war in Vietnam. On parked machines the covers went onto the air intakes to keep dirt out and to prevent damage to the engine.

Use and fitting

• Wash the print resin residue off the parts and cut the print supports away
• Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue)
• The covers usually carry striking warning colors, so an airbrush and masking are ideal
• Suitable for scenes with a parked machine
