A resin and 3D-printed kit for experienced modelers, capturing the amphibious twin-engine flying boat Grumman G-21 Goose in the military versions US Navy JRF-5 and US Army OA-9. The set from Lukgraph in 1:32 scale offers precise 3D-printed parts, a finely rendered interior and usually also accessories in the form of photo-etched parts, masks and decals. It is a large and demanding project.
The Grumman G-21 Goose is an amphibious twin-engine flying boat that proved itself in civil as well as in military service. In US Navy service it carried the designation JRF-5, and with the US Army the designation OA-9. A rugged structure and the ability to operate from water and from land made it a versatile liaison and transport machine.
Prepare it carefully, as a resin kit deserves: first wash the parts to remove mold release residue and degrease them, so that paint and glue hold well. Cut off any casting blocks carefully, separate the thin 3D-printed parts with a gentle touch and protect your breathing while sanding. Bond the resin components with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and check the fit dry, especially on the hull of the boat and the engine nacelles. The JRF-5 and OA-9 military schemes come out well once a primer and a fine wash are applied.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted as a resin kit; glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
