Laser-cut self-adhesive masks in 1:32 scale for spraying the basic markings and the technical stencils onto a model of the Hawker Sea Fury FB.11. The maker, the Belgian brand 1 Man Army, intended them for the kit from the brand DBMK and lists them under the number 32DET062.
The markings are sprayed through a cut pattern, so they lie directly in the paint. They have no rim and no step of the kind a decal gives away on a matte finish, and they do not lift during weathering. The masks are of low-tack tape, the set has pictorial instructions for placement and single use is assumed.
The Hawker Sea Fury FB.11 was a carrier fighter-bomber of the Royal Navy and the last piston fighter in its front line. It was powered by the eighteen-cylinder Bristol Centaurus radial engine, its armament was four 20 mm cannons and under the wing it could carry bombs and unguided rockets. It saw its service mainly over Korea, where it flew above all against ground targets, and it was credited there even with the shooting down of a jet MiG-15.
Degrease the surface before applying anything and let the paint dry completely. The large side surface in 1:32 holds a mask well, but on the rounded fuselage of the Sea Fury press the mask down from the center toward the edges so that it does not wrinkle anywhere. Spray in thin coats and lift the mask with tweezers before the paint has fully hardened. Anyone spraying white or a light shade should reckon with more coats, as an overlap shows most easily with opaque colors.
These are masks for painting the model, not a kit. The DBMK base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
