LAU-3A Hydra rocket pods is a resin 3D-printed set of two nineteen-tube rocket pods in 1:32 scale for adding armament to models of aircraft and helicopters.
Responsibility details are not available.
This detail set from the Ukrainian maker ResKit contains two 3D-printed resin LAU-3A rocket pods for unguided Hydra 70 rockets. It is not a model but external armament with realistic tube faces. The pod has nineteen tubes and was carried by US Army and US Navy machines, both aircraft and helicopters.
The LAU-3A is a classic nineteen-tube rocket pod for 70 mm unguided rockets of the Hydra family. It was used for saturation fire against ground targets and was carried by a range of combat aircraft and helicopters. Faithfully printed tube faces and rocket fins noticeably raise the realism of the carried armament.
Wash the uncured resin residue off the parts, separate them from the print supports and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Spray a primer, then the pod shade, and pick out the individual tubes. Stencil markings for the US Army or the US Navy are a good addition.
This is an add-on armament set, not a standalone model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and the carrier model are not included in the package.
