A figure of a standing pilot of the A-7 Corsair II in 1:32 scale, in the form for the Greek Air Force. The package contains one piece, the second type of stance.
Responsibility details are not available.
The LTV A-7 Corsair II was a subsonic attack aircraft intended originally for carrier service with the US Navy. The machine was marked by a large frontal air intake under the cockpit and by the ability to carry a heavy bomb load over short distances. Besides the American forces it also served in the Greek Air Force, where it lasted in active service for a very long time.
In the package there is one figure of a pilot in a standing stance, designated as the second type. In 1:32 scale an adult figure measures roughly five and a half centimeters, so the flying equipment, the straps and the shape of the helmet are all apparent on it. The figure is intended to fill out an A-7 model or a diorama on an airfield apron.
The parts are not injection-molded polystyrene, so use cyanoacrylate glue to attach them. Cut off the excess material with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand what is left with fine abrasive paper. Wash the surface in lukewarm soapy water before painting, let it dry through and spray it with a thin coat of primer.
Paint the figure in layers: first the base shades of the equipment, then the shadows into the folds and finally the highlights on the raised surfaces. At this scale it pays to finish the face with slow-drying paints, which allow the transitions to be blended.
The figure suits a modeler who is building a large A-7 model and wants to give it scale and a story. A figure beside an aircraft shows the real size of the machine at once. The model of the aircraft, a base and paints are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
