A resin kit of the Italian Macchi M.5 fighter flying boat of the First World War in 1:32 scale from the Czech manufacturer HPH Models. It is a multimedia kit intended for experienced modelers: besides the cast resin parts it contains photo-etched parts, small additions and thread for the rigging. It is not injection-molded plastic but a collector's kit that is more demanding to build.
The Macchi M.5 was an Italian single-seat fighter flying boat of the late First World War. Its boat-shaped hull allowed it to take off and land on water and so to protect naval bases and convoys in the Adriatic Sea. As a biplane with a pusher propeller arrangement it was agile and well regarded among the water-based fighters of its day.
First wash the mold release residue off the resin parts so that the paint holds. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond the parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The boat hull calls for careful clean-up, and on a biplane the rigging comes only after painting. Bring the wooden and fabric areas to life with graded shades.
The model is supplied as a resin kit, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
