A model of the Japanese carrier-based torpedo and bomber aircraft Nakajima B5N2 Kate in the large 1:32 scale from Czech manufacturer HpH Models. It is a resin kit combined with plastic and clear parts, of a higher rank aimed at experienced modelers.
The B5N (Allied codename Kate) was the standard carrier-based attack aircraft of the Imperial Japanese Navy at the start of the Pacific War. The B5N2 version had a more powerful Nakajima Sakae radial engine; the three-man crew could carry a torpedo or bombs. Kates played the leading role in the attack on Pearl Harbor and in the sinking of American aircraft carriers in 1942.
This is a resin (and 3D-printed) kit for experienced modelers. Wash the parts with lukewarm water and dish soap before building (to remove mold-release residue) and cut away the casting blocks. Glue with cyanoacrylate (super glue), not plastic cement; wear respiratory protection when sanding. After a primer coat, paint with an airbrush and apply decals over a gloss coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted as a resin kit (usually combined with other materials). Glue, paints, and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
