A set of plastic figures in 1:32 scale representing the grenadiers of the Württemberg contingent of the Napoleonic Wars. In this range the manufacturer supplies eighteen figures to a package. These are not finished painted figures but a set to be worked up and painted.
Grenadiers were the elite company of an infantry battalion. Originally they were soldiers chosen for throwing grenades; in time this became an honorary title for the biggest and most experienced men of a regiment. That is exactly why they had more striking headgear and more conspicuous badges than ordinary infantrymen: they went first in a fight and were meant to be seen. The Kingdom of Württemberg fought as a member of the Confederation of the Rhine alongside France, and its corps went through the campaigns against Austria and the Russian campaign of 1812.
Wash the figures in lukewarm water with dish soap and let them dry, or the paint will not hold on the surface. Take the mold seam off with a blade drawn at an angle. Apply a primer before painting. With grenadiers it pays to give time to the headgear and the badges, because that is exactly what tells the set apart from ordinary infantry. The white crossbelts and piping come out best when applied in two thin coats instead of one heavy one.
