The second variant of standing pilots of the OV-10D+ Bronco aircraft from the Reskit brand. The set in 1:32 scale supplements a model with figures beside the machine and the name sets it apart as type 2.

The Bronco and its crew

The twin-engine Bronco with a pair of tail booms arose as a machine for forward air control, reconnaissance and light support. Seating in it was in tandem and thanks to the extensive glazing the crew had an exceptional view downwards. The modernized version with the qualifier plus brought an observation system for work in the dark and more powerful engines. For a modeler the real subject is interesting also because it was often photographed on improvised strips, where things tended to be lively around the machine.

What helps with the finishing

With a pair of figures it is good to choose two slightly different shades of coverall; an absolutely identical color looks austere, while a small deviation helps the scene. It also pays to think about where the figures look. When they look at each other or at one place on the machine, the composition closes up by itself. At the end unify the gloss with a varnish and leave the sparkle only on the visor of the helmet. A slightly different shade of skin on the two heads is worth trying too, because two absolutely identical faces beside each other draw attention sooner than anything else in a display case.
