Two seated figures of pilots of the OV-10D Bronco in 1:32 scale, shaped into the ejection seats of the cockpit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set offers two figures of airmen seated, shaped into the ejection seats of the front and the rear position of the cockpit. The posture, the bend of the legs and the position of the hands match the way the crew really sits in the cramped space of the Bronco. You get both figures in one package.
The OV-10D version came about by rebuilding the original Bronco for the night observation and attack role. It got an extended nose with a rotating thermal imaging turret, more powerful engines and modified propellers; it was flown mainly by members of the Marine Corps, who directed fire and designated targets over the battlefield. The crew of two sits one behind the other under long glazing, so both figures are visible whole from the cockpit. Given the extent of the glazing there is nowhere to hide empty seats.
In 1:32 even small things stand out, so it pays to set the matte cloth of the flight suit apart from the glossy finish of the helmet and from the harness. Build the face up in thin layers: a base tone, a brown shadow into the hollows and a light touch on the forehead, the nose and the chin. Hoses and small accessories are better finished in paint only after seating in the cockpit. The harness stands out when you shade it a tone lighter than the flight suit and run a dry brush over the edges.
The package does not hold a cockpit or the machine itself.
