1:32 P-47N Thunderbolt - propeller, engine (R-2800) and engine hood (3D Printed) is a printed set with the propeller, the radial engine and the engine cowling. It is an addition, not a model of the aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set made by 3D printing for a model of the American P-47N Thunderbolt fighter in 1:32 scale. It contains a rendering of the R-2800 radial engine, the propeller and the engine cowling, that is, the group of parts that makes up the whole nose on a model. Printing can draw out the cylinder fins, the exhaust routing and the thin edges of the cowl flaps to the form that an injection mold simplifies for production reasons. The set is not a model of the aircraft.
The P-47N was the last and most fully developed Thunderbolt, intended for long escort flights over the Pacific. It was given a new wing with larger tanks and a longer range, so it could escort bombers on routes the earlier versions could not manage. It was powered by the air-cooled eighteen-cylinder twin-row R-2800 Double Wasp radial from Pratt & Whitney, with a turbocharger housed in the rear fuselage. It was precisely the bulky nose and the long ducting of air to the turbocharger that gave the aircraft its characteristic shape.
The printed parts are held on thin supports. Snip them off close to the part and level the face with a file or a scalpel. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a primer before painting. The engine stands out when it is sprayed in a dark metallic shade, brought out with a dry brush and finally covered with a dark wash that runs in between the cylinder fins.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
