The set captures the MHU-191/M munitions transporter of the US Navy, also listed under the AERO 21A designation, and adapters for holding bombs come with it. It is a standalone accessory that is built apart from the aircraft model and placed next to it or into a scene.
Munitions are not carried to the aircraft on a carrier deck by hand. Bombs travel on low carts that are hitched behind a tractor and have to pass even under the wing of a parked machine. The load bed is therefore as low as possible and the frame as narrow as possible. The adapters hold the bomb in a position in which it can be mounted straight away, so that it does not have to be handled more often than necessary.
For builders of carrier aircraft in large scale and for dioramas of flight deck operations. A cart with a bomb beside the model explains how the armament actually gets under the wing, and it fills the space around the parking spot. The aircraft, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
