The eighteen-ton Famo was the largest German half-track tractor and pulled even the heaviest tanks out of the mud. The 1:35 18 t (Sd.Kfz. 9) FAMO set refines its model with metal parts.

The delivery contains detail parts for a model of the heaviest German half-track tractor. They are used to replace the coarser plastic shapes where the thickness of the material shows at first glance. You have to have your own kit of the tractor.
The Sd.Kfz. 9 was built by the Famo works in Breslau and, with a towing capacity for eighteen tons, it was the top of the German line of artillery tractors. A Maybach twelve-cylinder gasoline engine powered it and at the rear it carried a large platform with a winch. It was used for towing heavy guns, but above all for recovering and moving damaged tanks. For the heaviest machines a single tractor was not enough and crews routinely coupled them in twos and threes. A version with a fixed crane was also built on the chassis, which made it possible to change an engine in the field. Anyone building a scene of a front-line repair shop can practically not do without this vehicle.
The open load area and the winch stay clearly visible once the build is finished, so put the metal elements on them first. Bend long thin parts in stages, otherwise they will ripple. Greasy patches and traces of oil around the winch will give the vehicle a genuinely working look.
The accessories are sold without the model, without paints and without glues.
