American helmet M1 1:35 is a set of resin (3D printed) American helmets for figures and dioramas. An accessory, not a model of its own.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of resin helmets made by 3D printing, representing the American M1 steel helmet in 1:35 scale. The accessory from the Czech maker Firma49 serves to fit out figures and to bring dioramas to life. It is not a model of equipment but a detail accessory for the most common diorama scale.
The M1 helmet was introduced into the US Army in 1941 and replaced the older M1917 helmet. It consisted of an outer steel shell and an inner liner. It served throughout the Second World War and in the decades that followed and is among the best known helmets of the 20th century. The rounded shell with a slightly lowered rim is characteristic.
Separate the helmets from the supports; it is worth dipping the resin briefly in hot water before trimming so that it softens, and it hardens again once cooled. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Wash the parts before painting and apply a primer. A matte olive drab suits them, and the surface can be roughened for period texture.
The accessory is supplied as unpainted resin parts. Paints, glue and figures are not included in the package.
