This is a set of turned metal armament for the Soviet BMP-1 or BMD-1 combat vehicles, in 1:35 scale from Aber. It is not a vehicle model but a set of accurate replacement parts in place of the plastic armament. The set contains the barrel of the 73 mm 2A28 Grom gun and the barrel of the coaxial 7.62 mm PKT machine gun.
The 73 mm 2A28 Grom gun was the main weapon of the BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicle and of the BMD-1 airborne vehicle. It was a low-pressure smoothbore gun firing rocket-assisted projectiles. It was supplemented by a coaxial 7.62 mm PKT machine gun. Both vehicles were typical equipment of the Warsaw Pact armies.
The turned barrels have a faithful bore and need no drilling. The characteristic muzzle of the Grom gun is captured faithfully. Separate the parts from the casting remains, degrease them and glue them with super glue. Prime the metal surface before painting.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
