Replacement wheels with an Italian off-road tread: 1:35 Artiglio Wheels AB 41 replaces the plastic wheels of the Autoblinda AB 41 armored car with resin castings.
Responsibility details are not available.
This cast set from the Italian brand Royal Model replaces the wheels from the box with full resin castings carrying the Artiglio off-road tread. Against split plastic it does away with the seam that on two-part wheels runs exactly across the middle of the tread, and the side lettering and the profile of the tread come out considerably crisper. The vehicle itself is obtained separately by the modeler.
The AB 41 was the main Italian four-wheeled reconnaissance armored car of the Second World War. It had drive and steering on all wheels, a turret with a 20 mm Breda cannon and two driving positions, so it reversed as briskly as it went forward. It fought in North Africa, in the Balkans and on the Eastern Front. The tires were supplied for it in two versions: the desert Libia and the coarser Artiglio, whose name means claw in Italian. This set is the second of the two patterns, that is the one the vehicle wore on European battlefields.
Wash the castings first in lukewarm water with detergent, so that no residue of release agent from the mold is left on the surface. Cut the casting gate off with a modeling saw and level the mating surface on sandpaper under running water. Use cyanoacrylate glue to join them to the axle. For the color, a dark gray lightened in the middle of the tire surface works well, and dust pigment is then rubbed into it.
