A resin figure in 1:35 scale from the CMK brand, the sister brand of Special Hobby, the manufacturer's part number F35334. It is not a kit of a machine but a standalone figure for a diorama or for a model of a gun. The manufacturer casts it with a separate head and right arm, so you can set the posture and the line of sight to suit the scene. It is offered as a crew for the siege mortars and trench mortars of the Austro-Hungarian artillery, for which the manufacturer also has separate resin models in the same scale, and as a companion to its figure of an Austro-Hungarian officer.
During the First World War the gun crews of the Austro-Hungarian army served weapons that were among the best of their day, above all the heavy siege mortars of domestic manufacture that were deployed on the Western Front as well. The men served at them in a field uniform of a grayish shade with a soft-shaped cap, later also with a steel helmet, and they worked in lighter equipment than the infantry, because at the weapon they needed their hands free.
Wash the resin with soapy water before gluing so that the mold release residue disappears, and cut off the casting blocks. Go over the mold seams with a scraper, as otherwise they will show through the paint. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); cement for plastic does not hold here. A primer is essential. Finish the skin and the eyes first and only then the uniform, and paint the fabric and the metal parts of the equipment separately so that they differ in surface.
