A detailed injection-molded plastic kit of the British light utility off-road vehicle FV18001 Mk.2 with an 80 inch wheelbase (late production) in 1:35 scale from Gecko Models. The kit offers a well worked out interior and engine compartment, photo-etched parts and decals. The vehicle can be built with the canvas top on or off.
The FV18001 is the military version of a British off-road vehicle with four-wheel drive (4x4) and an 80 inch wheelbase, closely related to the well known civil range of early generation British off-road vehicles. It served as a general purpose utility machine for carrying people and materiel, for liaison and for light logistics work. Late production differs from the early series in details of the body and the equipment.
Finish and paint the interior and the engine compartment before closing the body up. Glue the photo-etched parts with super glue and the plastic with liquid cement for plastic. Lay a primer, then the British military shade (bronze or olive green) according to the service. Fine-tune the weathering with a wash into the recesses and pigments on the running gear. Bring the canvas top out with a dry brush for the texture of the fabric.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
