A figure in 1:35 scale representing a member of the British Marine Commandos of the Second World War. Intended to be painted by the modeler, for a diorama and for a model of a vehicle.
Responsibility details are not available.
The British Marine Commandos were created during the Second World War as light raiding units intended for rapid attacks on a coastline. They trained in the mountains and at sea, landed from ships and operated on most European battlefields. The training was hard and belonging to the unit became a byword that outlived the war by many decades.
A figure of a soldier in 1:35 scale, that is in the same scale as ordinary kits of military vehicles and most diorama accessories. You will place it beside a model of a vehicle, in a scene or on its own on a base in a display case. The number of parts and the way to assemble it are described by the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut away surplus material with a sharp blade a short distance from the part and sand the area, so that the joint seats without a gap. Wash and degrease the figure before painting. Then apply a primer, flat shades and finally shading with glazes, which bring out the folds of the cloth and the creases of the equipment. British uniforms of the period will take muted brown-green tones, on which a fine wash sits well. Plan the colors of the equipment in advance so that they do not get lost in a single shade with the uniform. Leave the face for last and work in good light; it is exactly by the face that a figure is judged.
For modelers who build vehicles and scenes of the Western Front and want to bring them to life with a human figure, and for collectors of figures. Paints, glue and other equipment are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
