The metal add-on set Royal Model 1:35 Brummbar belongs to a model of the armored vehicle with the short 15 cm howitzer built on the Panzer IV chassis.
Responsibility details are not available.
A refining item from the brand Royal Model for a model of the German Sturmpanzer IV assault gun, known by the nickname Brummbär. It replaces coarser plastic elements with finer counterparts.
The Brummbär came about by converting the Panzer IV chassis into a heavily armored box into which a 15 cm howitzer with a short barrel would fit. The machine's task was not a duel with tanks but breaking up fortified houses, bunkers and barricades by direct fire at short range. It appeared for the first time in the summer of 1943 at Kursk and later came into its own in Italian towns and in Warsaw. In total only around three hundred vehicles were built in several production runs, which differ from one another in the shape of the superstructure, in the position of the commander's cupola and in the solution for the machine gun in the front armor.
First go through which plastic projections have to be removed for the metal part to seat. Do the cutting with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface and level the burrs with a file. The coarser surface of the superstructure can be suggested with putty applied with a brush. A dusty underside and battered edges support the impression of a machine sent into fighting in built-up areas.
Neither a kit nor modeling chemicals belong to this item.
