This set from the Italian brand Royal Model brings into 1:35 scale the thin photo-etched sheet parts that an injection mold cannot manage technologically. Once swapped, the grilles, grab handles, eyes and sheet-metal covers really do look like sheet rather than a casting with rounded edges. The tank and the self-propelled gun share the hull and the running gear, so the contents cover both vehicles. It is based on the dimensions of the Tamiya kit.
The Carro Armato M13/40 entered service in 1940, when the Italian armored units had nothing stronger than light machines. It carried a 47 mm gun in a rotating turret and a riveted hull, which is its recognition feature. It fought in Greece and above all in North Africa. On the same chassis grew self-propelled guns whose howitzer had a markedly greater effect against fortifications and infantry than a tank barrel, and the crews therefore took to them more than to the tank itself.
Separate the parts with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface, not with pliers. The bends run along marked grooves and come out most cleanly in a bending tool or between two razor blades. Free the metal of grease and apply a primer, otherwise the shade will not hold on the smooth surface.
