The village well East European well in 1:35 scale is a resin scenic element for scenes from the Eastern Front.
Responsibility details are not available.
The casting from the Royal Model brand is made of resin and will complete a diorama set to the east of the former borders of the Reich. It is a standalone scenic object around which a whole small scene can be built.
Water was a natural gathering place in a village, so a well is a rewarding pretext for soldiers and civilians to meet by it. It is also a vertical element: it breaks up a horizontal composition with a vehicle and gives a scene depth. Wood, stone and metal on one small object also allow three different surfaces to be shown side by side, which tends to be more convincing when work is judged than a single material over a large area.
Free the casting of the remains of the mold and apply a primer. The wooden parts look good if a brush with an ocher shade is drawn almost dry over a gray-brown base, which pulls out the grain. Stone, by contrast, will take a cooler tone and a darker coat into the joints. The metal strapping is worth darkening and suggesting rust here and there, and then working mud from pigment and matte varnish in at the foot of the well.
The well arrives as a raw casting meant for further work.
