The KV-14 self-propelled gun, better known as the SU-152, in 1:35 scale gains photo-etched screens over the large cooling openings of the rear deck.
Responsibility details are not available.
The SU-152 self-propelled gun inherited the whole rear end from the KV tanks, including the large cooling openings. It is exactly those that receive a fine metal grille in this set instead of plastic relief. Anyone building this type will appreciate that the detail does not concern only the fighting compartment but also the places everyone looks at in a display.
The vehicle was created under the factory designation KV-14 in an exceptionally short time and went into action at Kursk as early as the summer of 1943. A 152 mm howitzer fitted into the boxy superstructure on the KV-1S chassis, and its shell could knock the turret off a heavy armored vehicle even without penetrating the armor. The soldiers therefore nicknamed it the beast slayer. It was built in Chelyabinsk and was soon replaced by a newer design on the IS series chassis.
The openings in the plastic tend to be shallower than reality would warrant, and it pays to deepen them with a burr before setting the metal in. Attach the grille only after you have sprayed a base color into the space beneath it, otherwise you will reach it with neither a brush nor an airbrush. Apply dust and sand with dry pigment. Free the edges of the openings of burrs beforehand, so that the part seats around the whole perimeter.
The vehicle itself and the pigments are not in the package.
